South Sulawesi, INDONESIA – Indonesia is a powerhouse country in the mining industry known for coal, tin and nickel mining but also home to copper, gold and other mineral deposits and a mature community of mining professionals. This article shares a recent visit by KLINGE to client PT Vale Sorowako mine to complete TyreARM audits and Total Tyre Control Training.
Tyre Management using Total Tyre Control (TTC) training. As part of a project by site to boost mining tyre safety and efficiency KLINGE recently traveled to deliver targeted TTC training. Both mine (PT Vale) and tyre service provider (PT Chitra Paratama) team members participated in a 1x day intensive workshop style class designed for better knowledge retention over a shorter timeline.
KLINGE offer custom software training options for its clients enabling targeted learning for specific roles and responsibilities. This is only possible because KLINGE trainers are experienced Tyre Advisors, Superintendents and Supervisors with on-site mining experience. In this case Iswaluyo who attended site draws on his time as a tyre advisor at mines such as Kaltim Prima Coal, Ok Tedi in Papua New Guinea and Mt Arthur Coal in Australia.
Understanding the day-to-day needs of all TTC stakeholders from OTR tyre technicians, workshop supervisors and category managers is critical. Visiting a customer site will impact the flow of work and productivity of the mine, KLINGE plans these visits with our clients and draws on our own mining experience to deliver value.
Challenges in Indonesian Mining Industry. KLINGE have been working with Indonesian miners since the late 1980s and even had permanent people servicing mines in our past. “It was important to the founders of KLINGE to not just export our expertise, but to help grow it in Indonesia, today we still work with some of the people we met on that journey like Iswaluyo.” said Al Klinge CEO | Managing Director of KLINGE. Some of the largest mines in Indonesia rely on Total Tyre Control Earthmover and Total Tyre Control Web to forecast tyre and rim usage, plan maintenance and record daily service work.
In 2024 KLINGE are positioned to deliver OTR tyre service training to mines and service providers in Indonesia in Bhasa Indonesian. If you would like to learn more about tyre management, TTC or tyre service training for your site contact us today.
